Founded in 2008, Rainbow Dust set out with a clear mission.

We’re here to help bakers, sugarcrafters and chocolatiers create wow! moments. We do so by providing you with the creative pallet needed to craft magical creations. Creations which bring gasps, smiles, joy and just make the occasion that little bit more special. 

A lot has happened over the years. Most recently we were delighted to become part of the family-owned company The Albex Group in 2023.  This is a perfect fit with the family values we have and means that we now have the support of one of the Europe’s leading food companies to help in creating those wow! moments.  In 2024 we also welcomed Squires Kitchen into the fold, so that now our customers have a wider range of products to choose from.

Many years have passed, but we’re still true to our mission and to our three guiding principles.

First, we’re proud of our roots. To this day, all of our products are made with love at our factory in Preston, England. This means that every UK customer choosing Rainbow Dust is reducing their carbon footprint, gaining the confidence that their ingredients adhere to strict UK food safety standards and contributing to the British economy.  We’re a global citizen too and opened a distribution centre in the Netherlands in 2024 to support our European friends.  

Being true to our roots also means we’re an active member of the crafting community which we serve.  Whether it’s helping crafters to develop their skills through our ambassadors, supporting charities with free product and our time, or sponsoring important get-togethers like Cake International, we’re always looking to give back.

Second, we’re passionate about quality. We’re one of the few food colouring and decoration manufacturers who actually make their own products rather than outsourcing. This means that we retain complete control of quality and our standards are the highest.  We’re independently audited and consistently achieve the highest rating of BRC AA.

And third, we’re always innovating.  Constantly raising the bar is part of our DNA and we’re always developing new products to help add that extra dash of wow!
