What's the difference between Shimmer Dust and Sparkle Dust?

Shimmer Dust create a smooth, metallic sheen. Sparkle Dust has visible glitter particles for a more textured, sparkling effect. Shimmer Dusts are perfect for elegant cakes, adding a little extra shine to your bakes. Sparkle Dust is for fun celebration bakes, helping to create the WOW!

How do I apply Shimmer (lustre) Dust?

Dry dusting: Use a soft brush on dried sugarpaste or modelling paste. Painting: Mix with clear rejuvenatorsprit for liquid metallic paint. Highlighting: Dust over texture for realistic effects on sugar flowers.

Will Shimmer Dust (Lustre) stick to buttercream?

Not directly - buttercream is too moist. Instead, let buttercream crust slightly, then lightly mist with water before dusting. For best results on buttercream, use sparkle dust spray which better to soft surfaces.

Can I eat gold and silver leaf?

Yes! Our gold and silver leaf products are genuine edible metals, completely safe for consumption. They're flavourless and add pure luxury to special occasion cakes.

How much Shimmer Dust do I need?

A little goes far! The 3g pots cover multiple cakes for home bakers. Professionals or frequent users should consider 20-30g sizes for better value. The multipack is perfect for starting a collection.

My lustre powder won't stick - what's wrong?

Surface must be completely dry for dry dusting. If it's not sticking, try: applying edible glue to the surface, using clear alcohol as a painting medium, or applying to fondant that's been very lightly misted with water.
