Marta is an internationally recognised, award-winning sugar artist from Portugal, renowned for her innovative royal icing cookie designs and her signature dimensional piping techniques. She is the creative force behind The Cookie Lab by Marta Torres and Marta Torres – Royal Icing Cookie Art.
About Marta
Marta’s cookie journey began in 2013, quite unexpectedly. With a background in banking and consulting—and no prior experience with royal icing—she discovered cookie decorating by chance. Fuelled by determination and creativity, she taught herself the art from scratch. Just six months later, she entered her first competition and won—setting her on a new life path.
Today, Marta is a highly sought-after instructor, having taught her unique royal icing techniques to more than 2,000 students across 33 countries. She also teaches online, with over 1,300 students attending her Livestream classes and courses.
She is frequently invited to serve as a judge at prestigious international
competitions, including:
