Floral School Cake
Close your eyes for a second. You're back in the school dinner hall, the smell of freshly baked sponge filling the room, tray in hand. The reward at the end? A square of vanilla traybake, thick pink icing and a generous dusting of sprinkles. Simple. Brilliant. Unforgettable.

Baking Ingredients
For the sponges:
225g Self Raising Flour
225g Cake Margarine
225g Caster Sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
Decorating Ingredients
ProGel Colours: Leaf Green, Baby Blue, Baby Pink & Peach
Sparkle Dust Pump Spray: Snow White
Squires Kitchen Icing Whitener
Buttercream (recipe of your choice)
Equipment
Lined Tray Bake tin
4 x Piping Bags (2 x Plain tubes & 2 x Star tubes)
Method
1. Bake your basic sponge mix and leave to cool completely - Full recipe here
2. Make your buttercream, add in the Squires Kitchen Icing Whitener for a brighter base. Using a pallet knife, spread all over the top your sponge cake. Mark into squares ready to pipe your designs into each area.
3. Into four separate bowls add a few drops of ProGel colour into each using Leaf Green, Baby Blue, Baby Pink & Peach, and mix until even in colour. Place the Leaf Green & Baby Blue into piping bags with a plain end tube, and the Baby Pink & Peach into piping bags with a star tube.
4. Pipe your design onto each square area, piping stems, leaves & flower designs. No set pattern is required, its all up to you.
5. Once you are happy with your designs, add a few sprays of Snow White Sparkle Dust to enhance your homemade bakes.
