Our brand ambassador, Paris-based pastry chef and luxury cake designer, Marc Suárez, has just delivered what can only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime creation: a 500kg wedding cake installation at the Opera Garnier in Paris.

His client's vision was bold. They wanted a cake that didn’t look like a cake, but a monument. Standing 3.5 metres tall, 1.8 metres wide and decorated with 33,000 hand-crafted petals, made from Squires Kitchen Sugar Florist Paste, the piece is breath taking. An architectural masterpiece built from sugarpaste and white chocolate, referencing the carvings and statues of the Opera Garnier itself, painted gold using Gold Shimmer Dust mixed with rejuvenator spirit and Gold Paint.

The creation took nearly six months. From the creative process to bringing it to life, 1,800 hours of work were dedicated to this piece. The project was so ambitious that Marc had around twenty people, including friends, family and acquaintances, to help paint and assemble the petals.

Marc described the bride seeing it for the first time and being overcome with tears of joy. These are the “WOW!” moment we live for and we’re proud to work with incredible professionals who show what’s possible when premium products meet world-class artists.
