Rainbow Dust Returns as Proud Sponsor of Britain's Best Cake 2026
Rainbow Dust is thrilled to announce our return as an official sponsor of Britain's Best Cake 2026. Now in its third year, this prestigious competition celebrates the exceptional talent of professional cake makers across the nation.
The event takes place on 13 and 14 April 2026 at the UK Food & Drink Shows, NEC Birmingham, and entries are open until 16 February 2026.
Supporting this competition for the second consecutive year is something we feel strongly about. Britain's Best Cake brings together the best professional bakers and cake makers in the country, showcasing the creativity, skill, and craftsmanship that makes the UK cake industry so remarkable. These are exactly the qualities we champion at Rainbow Dust, and being part of an event that recognises excellence in our industry is a privilege.
What is Britain's Best Cake?
Britain's Best Cake is organised by British Baker, the leading trade publication for the UK baking industry. The competition provides professional cake makers with an opportunity to have their creations judged by a panel of industry experts, with entries assessed on appearance, aroma, internal structure, bake quality, and taste.
The 2026 competition features nine categories: Blondies & Brownies, Celebration Cake (new for this year), Classic Cake, Fruit Cake, Gluten Free Cake, Mini Cakes, Modern Cake (also new for 2026), Traybake, and Vegan Cake. Category winners go on to compete for the ultimate title of Britain's Best Cake, while Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded throughout to recognise outstanding entries.
Why We Support Britain's Best Cake
At Rainbow Dust, we work with professional decorators and bakers every day. We see firsthand the dedication that goes into creating showstopping cakes, from wedding centrepieces to birthday favourites. Our lustre dusts, edible glitters, and ProGel food colourings are used by cake artists across the UK to bring their visions to life, and many of those same professionals will be entering this competition.
Competitions like Britain's Best Cake give talented bakers the recognition they deserve. Last year's overall winner, Laura Alejandro of Abba Cakes in the Wirral, received extensive media coverage including a BBC interview. That level of exposure can transform a small bakery business, and we are proud to help make it possible.
How to Enter Britain's Best Cake 2026
If you run a bakery or cake business and want to showcase your skills, entries are now open. Each entry costs £39 plus VAT, and you can enter multiple categories if you wish. The deadline for submissions is Monday 16 February 2026.
The benefits of entering go beyond the competition itself. Winners and medallists receive official logos they can use in their marketing, coverage on British Baker's website and social media channels, and the opportunity to network with fellow cake makers and industry suppliers at the NEC Birmingham event.
